Second Life offers Premium Account holders the opportunity to change the the first proper name, the last name or both the first and terminal names of their account at any time, or to revert to whatsoever proper noun they name have used in the past (once more, first name, last name or both).

This Tutorial is intended to provide an overview of using the Name Change capability.

Important Points

First some points to note:

Premium members may alter their kickoff proper name or their last name or both their first and concluding proper noun whenever they wish.
- First names are free-course.
- Final names are selected from a listing, with the bachelor names updated periodically.
There is a fee applicable each time the capability is used. This fee is displayed as a part of the Name Change process.
- VAT at applicable rates will exist added to accounts in VAT-paying countries.
In one case a first name+ last proper name combination has been applied to an avatar account, it cannot exist used past whatever other account (so "Josephine Bloggs" cannot use Proper noun Modify to become "Inara Pey").
Information technology is possible for you to revert back to any previously-used name assigned to your account.
If y'all are Premium and use the Proper noun Modify capability, and so later downgrade to Bones, you will retain whatsoever avatar / account proper name you accept at the time y'all downgrade. You volition not non "revert" to whatsoever past proper name you may take had, and you won't be able to alter you proper noun again until such time as yous re-up to Premium.
Proper noun Changes is not replacing Display Names – these will remain available at no charge to all who wish to utilise them.

Log on to your dashboard at secondlife.com.

The Alter Your Account Name page is displayed. This comprises:

Change Your First Proper noun Just

Get out the Change First Proper noun option checked.
Use the text input field to enter your desired first name.
Uncheck the Modify Last Proper noun selection.

Change Your Last Name But

Uncheck the Change Start Name option.
Leave the Modify Last Name selection checked.
Click the radio button next to last name yous would similar to utilise.

Change Both Your Kickoff and Last Names

Proceed both the Alter First Proper noun option and the Change Last Name option checked.
Enter your desired get-go name in the text input field under Modify Commencement Proper noun
Click the radio button adjacent to last name y'all would like to use.

Reverting to a Previously Used Name

If you take previously used Name Changes, and would like to modify back to an "old" name:

Enter the first name in the Cull a First Name text input field (if required).
Click on the require last name from the list of your previously used Last Names (if available).

Completing the Alter

When you are happy with the name(s) you have set / selected, click the Review Changes button.
A summary of your changes is displayed (if you have fabricated no changes, yous'll be taken back to the Change Your Account Name page).

Make sure the details are as you desire them, or use the Get Dorsum link to alter your choice(s).
If you are sure of the changes:
- Log out of the viewer if you take not already washed then.
- Click on Continue to Checkout.
On the check-out folio, you are presented with your payment options:
- Via an Us dollar remainder on your Tilia business relationship.
  - Requires acceptance of the Tilia Terms of Service, if you have not already done then.
  - If you accept a sufficient US dollar remainder on your Tilia account, only do not with to use information technology, click the Don't Use button.
- Via any credit / debit carte already tied you your 2d Life Business relationship.
- Past clicking the More Payment Options… and making a selection (eastward.g. assigning another credit / debit menu to your business relationship).
When you lot have selected your preferred payment method, click the blue Buy Now push to complete your Name Modify.
